قرار بود لیلا و برادرش جمعه به پارک بروند. صبح باران می‌بارید، پس به کتابخانه رفتند. لیلا یک کتاب دربارهٔ پرندگان پیدا کرد و برادرش داستان کوتاهی خواند. ساعت دو، وقتی باران بند آمد، با هم به خانه برگشتند.

Voice direction to try
Read this as a clear classroom listening passage in Iranian Persian. Use a
natural, unhurried pace and a brief pause between sentences. Keep the story
conversational but not theatrical. Read the supplied words without adding
an introduction or an explanation.

First-listen answer
They planned a park visit but went to the library because it was raining.
Evidence: قرار بود … به پارک بروند. صبح باران می‌بارید، پس به کتابخانه رفتند.

Second-listen answers
1. The library. Evidence: به کتابخانه رفتند
2. Birds. Evidence: یک کتاب دربارهٔ پرندگان
3. A short story. Evidence: برادرش داستان کوتاهی خواند
4. Two o'clock. Evidence: ساعت دو … به خانه برگشتند
5. Buying is not stated. پیدا کرد means "found"; خواند means "read".

Preparation

the time and the last sentence. Give learners the question sheet first if
